I can't make my videos from dropbox public. I don't have the choice of 'copy to public link' the closest choice it's 'share link' I don't know if we have different versions of dropbox, or I'm doing something wrong.

Have you tried it from the dropbox website? (www.dropbox.com , log in etc) Not the dropbox installed in your PC.

There is the concept of a public folder in Dropbox, where you share everything with anyone and the newer concept of sharing a link to the file, where only users who have that link can see the file. Not sure which one of the two methods Stavroula suggests

Using the above short syntax with the ?video=... the first time you create a new activity with a video saves you from having to turn over the Clip component (formerly called Media) to enter the full URL to the smooth stream. It is similar to how you can give ?activity=... to load an activity and in the future one will be able to combine those so that by giving both ?activity=... and ?video=... they'll be able to place a video over an activity, say as an intro tutorial

I'll see into adding capability to the Clip component to understand similar URL shortcuts too that imply the gallery.clipflair.net (however since there are audio and video folders in the gallery one will still have to give video/..., whereas at the ClipFlair Studio short URL shown above the folder is implied too since its given in the parameter ?video=... or ?audio=... anyway)

Why don't we convert all the links in the gallery in this format? This way authors could just click on the URL and start creating their activity.

the thing is that they may have an existing template and want to add the video there so they need to copy the URL

however indeed I can change all the (play) shortcuts I have there now at most videos (that show the test player that the Expression Encoder adds [based on Silverlight Media Framework like in the Clip component of ClipFlair Studio]) to open the video instead in ClipFlair Studio like above

I changed the first two videos like that in the Gallery if you want to try it
