This topic is for suggestions for shortcuts, combinations of keys on the keyboard to perform actions instead of using the mouse to click on buttons.

Video player:
Space: play/pause
Left/right keys: Connect to fast rewind/forward buttons (I suggest we change them to move 1 sec back / 1 sec forward respectively)

Captions grid:
Insert: insert subtitle at current time. Keep it pressed to set the in and out times (in when pressed, out when depressed)
Delete: delete selected subtitle
Up or down arrows: select subtitle above or below respectively
These are just suggestions.

A button to record voice (keep pressed while talking) - any suggestions?

How about full screen video (F for full screen / Esc to exit)?
Also, a keyboard shortcut to turn subtitles on/off.

Toggle Pause and Play
Alternates between pausing the movie and playing it again.
Tab

Skipback
Skips the movie back in time (8 seconds?) without changing its state. (So if the movie was already playing, it will continue to play.) This action is useful during transcription because it lets you quickly and easily repeat passages.
Ctrl+Tab

Insert Current Time
Inserts the current time into the transcript. Identical to the Edit > Insert Time menu item.
Insert

Go To Next Time Code
Jumps to the next time code in your transcript, where "next" means the earliest time code in the trnascript that is later than the current time. If there are no later time codes, a message appears.

Go To Previous Time Code
Jumps to the next time code in your transcript, where "previous" means the latest time code in the trnascript that is earlier than the current time.

need to also add default keys (like ENTER and ESC) to dialogs like the open-from-url one (expected Silverlight to be doing it by default, but it doesn't as it seems)
