You can drag-drop a .docx (not older .doc, have to save as to .docx from Word first) file onto the Text component and it will try to get text with formatting (no images/tables/etc.) from it

Plan to also have the open text file dialog that component shows (first button on its toolbar) allow you to open .docx files (so that you don't have to drag-drop them)

Have just added support for loading .docx (only text is extracted, no images) and .txt (unicode) files



also added support for saving to .txt (unicode) unformatted text



same are supported via drag-drop

btw, you can drag-drop multiple .text or .txt files (not applicable to .docx yet) onto the text component to concatenate them there
