</br>the Social website could use HTML5 PivotViewer and the Playground app could use Silverlight PivotViewer to see the same CXML data from the Social website's galleries, blogs, forums etc. metadata

You may have noticed that a Collection component has been added recently to ClipFlair Studio (available from the activity toolbar)

you can try it with a sample collection (zoom in & out with the mouse or double click an image there):

http://studio.clipflair.net/?gallery=DogBreeds

try playing arround with different views, filters, search keywords and explore the metadata pane for each itme

in Studio the component I mentioned is officially called a Gallery, but you can also use the term collection for the content it shows and launch URLs can use either ?collection= or ?gallery= with the same result. On the gallery server collections will be usually kept at http://gallery.clipflair.net/collection/ folder (to avoid having a gallery.clipflair/gallery path which doesn't sound right). Eventually at that folder URL a collection of galleries hosted will be available (shown as a gallery itself ;-)

I have just updated the ClipFlair Activities Pivot collection to use DeepZoom images generated from full-resolution screenshots of the activities (those that don't have an image captured for them yet will show as an image of an empty activity from now on). So now you can zoom in with the mousewheel to see the activity as it will appear on screen and you can even read the text on the activity screenshot very well (can also double-click an item to move close to it / select it and double click again to move back to the view from "above" of the whole collection). I really love DeepZoom imagery

Note that after you double-click an item and the info pane appears, you can click the item's title there to open it at a separate page (all blueish things there are hyperlinks, e.g. clicking on "Intralingual" under "Language combination" will set a filter to show you all "Intralingual" activities [then you can Add more filters, or Clear some or all filters with those red buttons at the filter pane on the left)

This click-title to open also now works in the video gallery (pivot view) link I had posted above

* I will also see into adding adorners to the pivot items (like small buttons that appear on their top-right corner when you select them) for actions like Open, Copy URL etc. (and see into adding similar actions to the info pane)

btw, note that at the info pane there are left-right arrow buttons to select previous/next item in the current filtered set of items

I have updated ClipFlair Studio so that when you press the "Add Gallery" button it sets up the newly added gallery component to point to http://gallery.clipflair.net/collection/activities.cxml to show the ClipFlair Activity Gallery

(you can also point the gallery component [flip it over and set its source URL] to other Pivot collections on the internet like http://gallery.clipflair.net/collection/video.cxml or http://gallery.clipflair.net/collection/DogBreeds.cxml)

Also, now when you open a new ClipFlair Studio instance from http://studio.clipflair.net instead of an empty activity you get a ClipFlair Gallery preadded in it, so you can just cancel the Open activity from URL dialog that opens up by default and use the gallery. Or you could close that gallery component if you just want to start up with a blank activity.

btw, if you click on any of the .cxml links above you can see the XML data of the collections, which is pretty much human readable

(first it defines the FACETS for the filtering and then the ITEMS follow, where each item may contain apart from a title, a URL and image number [in the deepzoom image collection associated to this pivot items collection] one or more values for each facet)
