PLEASE PASS ON THE FOLLOWING INFO TO THEM

what do they mean "log in to ClipFlair"? I don't suppose they mean log-in to ClipFlair Social (http://social.clipflair.net) since they speak about Silverlight

So I guess they mean they can't use http://studio.clipflair.net (ClipFlair Studio web app that's based on the Silverlight browser plugin)

I need to know what Operating System they use (Windows or MacOS-X) and which version (e.g. Windows 8?) and also the web browser they use

1) On MacOS-X they should prefer Mozilla Firefox, it is the easiest to use with Silverlight there (Chrome is not supported on MacOS-X by Silverlight, has issues with text input, and Safari needs user to enable Silverlight to save to the disk since it is run in Safari's new sandbox mode by default)

2) On Windows they should use the desktop version of Internet Explorer (if they try to use the Windows 8 [METRO] app version of it they will see a prompt at the bottom of the screen that allows them to open it in the desktop version of IE11), or use Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome

*** recent Chrome versions disable Netscape API (NPAPI) based browser plugins by default and the user needs to enable that feature manually by visiting the URL
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
(they write this in the addressbar of chrome and press ENTER on the keyboard)
and at the page they're shown they should click Enable (for the Enable NPAPI option)
then Close/Reopen the Chrome webbrowser

regarding Silverlight, this fix is practically for Windows version of Chrome, since on MacOS-X Silverlight isn't officially supported for Google Chrome (text input doesn't work correctly), so Firefox should be preferred on Mac OS-X instead

btw, Chrome also is available as a Windows 8 app, in which mode it probably doesn't support plugins at all, so if you're running it on Windows 8 and see it always full screen inside a scrolling container, use the Chrome menu from the top-right of its window and select the option there to switch to the desktop version of Chrome instead (should say "Relaunch Chrome in desktop mode")

Google's plan is to totally remove NPAPI (Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface) from Chrome in the near future, so better avoid Chrome from now on and prefer Mozilla Firefox (the descendent of Netscape Navigator browser that defined NPAPI in the first place) or Internet Explorer for web apps that use plugins like Silverlight, Unity etc.

Now that Google Chrome has removed support for Netscape-compatible plugins, one can use http://www.ietab.net/ if they insist on using Chrome on Windows. That installs a special plugin for Chrome that hosts Internet Explorer inside it so that it can show everything the IE can at a special tab. You can even configure it to remember which sites should be shown using the IE Tab if I remember well
