Hi again Sara, can you try if audio recording AND THEN PLAYING IT BACK TOO now works on MacOS-X? I'm now trying to force mono (single channel) 16-bit 44.1Khz audio format (instead of the 96Khz, 24-bit, stereo one that I've seen MacOS-X use on a friend's laptop [he was a sound engineer so maybe his machine was recording at a too high quality, but 24-bit may be the problem with other Macs too]). Now it should also make smaller (half-size than before) WAV files I hope (think before we were recording stereo on PC which is a waste of data - most people use mono mics anyway)

btw 44.1Khz is CD quality audio

I had some feedback from a friend that one cannot still record on OS-X (probably the audio format I chose isn't supported?). Can you confirm that? If it still won't work I need to make/send you a page where it will list all supported formats for recording to see which one will suit us

also, changing ClipFlair Studio to save by default to .clipflair instead of .clipflair.zip on both MacOS-X and Windows (.clipflair.zip will still load on Windows, but as I wrote before MacOS-X file dialog has issues with it)

I have transitioned the gallery to use .clipflair instead of
.clipflair.zip files. ClipFlair Studio can still load .clipflair.zip
files, but since .clipflair.zip files don't open on the MacOS-X (can't
select them at the filedialog) it will be saving to .clipflair by
default now



I have set ClipFlair Studio to internally convert any
http://gallery.clipflair.net/activity/*.clipflair.zip URLs to
http://gallery.clipflair.net/activity/*.clipflair at launch URLs so that
older launch URLs of the form
http://studio.clipflair.net/?activity=*.clipflair.zip will still work,
although you should prefer ?activity=*.clipflair or just ?activity=*
(the .clipflair is added automatically for activity gallery URLs and if
you use a partial URL the activity gallery base web folder is implied,
e.g. you can use http://studio.clipflair.net/?activity=Rosa)



if you have any issues make sure you close and reopen your browser or
reboot the machine (you should see the percentage counter loading the
new version, if not your browser is keeping the old version alive so you
may even need a reboot or try another browser till you do next reboot
[this can happen if there is some crashed / hidden hanging instance of
the browser process in the background])

Dear George,
I cannot try if audio recording AND THEN PLAYING IT BACK TOO works on MacOS-X since as yourself commented I can't select the files at the filedialog.
Is there anything I can do to open the files from my computer (for example, changing the extension)? Or we just have to wait untill you have technically fixed the problem?

I can confirm that I cannot record, I tried with an activity which is already online. :-(

Hi Sara,
since at least two weeks now the load dialog works on MacOS-X, you just have to rename any .clipflair.zip files to .clipflair. Also the save dialog saves to .clipflair (not .clipflair.zip) there. Today I changed it to work the same on Windows too and also changed the ClipFlair gallery to use .clipflair instead of .clipflair.zip (ClipFlair Studio's file dialog on Windows will support opening .clipflair.zip files too, but will save by default to .clipflair, unless one selects from the filetype dropdown list there to save to .clipflair.zip [this feature isn't available at MacOS-X file dialog at all])

I'll let you know when I have an app to list available recording formats available so that you can run it and send me the list of formats to see which one we can use on OS-X

We opened the activities with a PC and saved them again and now I can select them at the filedialog in my Mac! Problem resolved then! :-)
