La traducción audiovisual y el aprendizaje de idiomas: conociendo clipflair


Propone: Departamento de Filologías Extranjeras y sus Lingüísticas

Curso que permite explorar las posibilidades de la traducción audiovisual como recurso didáctico flexible y eficiente para desarrollar todas las destrezas comunicativas en L2.

En este curso se sentarán las bases para poder utilizar la subtitulación, el doblaje, el voice­ over, la audiodescripción o la narración como modalidades de Traducción Audiovisual en el aula de idiomas. A través de diversas ponencias y talleres prácticos, el fin último de este curso es conseguir que los asistentes al mismo sean capaces de utilizar la traducción audiovisual en el aula de forma flexible, eficiente e independiente , a ser posible a través de la plataforma europea CLIPFLAIR, un lugar de encuentro para cualquier docenteo investigador interesado en este tipo de recursos audiovisuales de base tecnológica.

Issue title: Audiovisual Translation in Applied Linguistics: Beyond Case Studies.

Guest Editors: Laura Incalcaterra McLoughlin, Jennifer Lertola, Noa Talaván

AVT in Applied Linguistics has seen a considerable amount of activity in recent years with the publication of many remarkable case studies. The editors feel that, notwithstanding the often pioneering importance of such studies, the time has come for a more comprehensive look at this specialized field and would therefore welcome original proposals on theoretical issues relating to this area of research.

Areas for consideration include, but are not limited to, the use of AVT in Second Language Acquisition in relation to:

1) pragmatics
2) syntax
3) lexicon
4) speaking/writing/reading/listening skills
5) audiovisual and/or transferrable skills
6) inter-culture
7) pedagogical translation
8) accessibility issues for language learners
Large-scale and/or international case studies may be considered, provided strong theoretical background and equally strong conclusions are presented.

Proposals of approximately 500 words (in English) and a bionote of 200 words (including author’s affiliation) should be sent to The Editors at  by 1st November 2015.

Acceptance will be notified by 15th January 2016

Completed articles to be sent by 1st March 2016

Publication date: Spring 2018

New Trends in Language Didactics

We are proud to announce the publication of the volume "New Trends in Language Didactics", which gathers research papers presented in the homonymous conference organised within the framework of the ClipFlair project by the Mondern Applied Language Department of the Faculty of Letters, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on May 9-10, 2014.

ClipFlair presentation at One Voice for Languages

ClipFlair was presented to an audience of language teachers working in secondary schools and third level education (universities and institutes of technology) at the Dublin Institute of Technology on Saturday 7th February, 2015. It received an enthusiastic reception and a great suggestion was made: organize a competition among secondary school pupils and present their work at an upcoming Language Fair in Dublin (early June 2015).
Any other school (even outside Ireland) wishing to join in is more than welcome. Watch this space for updates.

On the 13th November 2014, at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, ClipFlair will be presented as a lecture in the Department of Second Language Studies to post-graduate students, foreign-language teacher trainees and Faculty members.
